Corporate Statement on Social and Environmental Responsibility and Positive Community Engagement
Bold World / ReelNATION strives to be a socially and environmentally responsible company and, as such, is dedicated to the positive engagement of business with the larger community.
Shortly following its formation in 2006, Bold World Cinéma SARL (Bold World [fr]), the corporate predecessor of Bold World / ReelNATION, also sparked the founding of Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts, a French non-profit association dedicated to uplifting young people (ages 11-18) in the Parisian banlieues through the fine and visual arts (namely writing, acting, and film production).
Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts principally sought to collaborate with like-minded non-profit associations already in existence; for example, along with Bold World [fr], Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts was a supporter (in-kind) of the Festival International du Film contre l'Exclusion et pour la Tolérance (FIFET), a Paris-based film festival combatting racism and antisemitism, fighting discrimination, and fostering peaceful coexistence through the facilitation of dialogue, collective reflexion, and intercultural exchange in post-screening forums. Simultaneously, Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts sought to open pathways for young people to careers in the fine and visual arts via collaborative internship placement with Bold World [fr].
Several youth-driven film and video projects conceived by Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts were slated for development and production by Bold World [fr], among them, Ma Vie, Ma Cité, a feature-length documentary film project bringing together young Jewish and Muslim teens living in the northern suburbs of Paris. Although the activity of Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts ultimately ceased with the cessation of the activity of Bold World [fr], Ma Vie, Ma Cité, though not formally appearing on the currently featured film slate for Bold World / ReelNATION, remains a project dear to our hearts, which we still seek to realize.
Thus, in the United States, Bold World / ReelNATION undertakes this same commitment to positive community engagement, as evidenced by its continued support of certain initiatives originally established by Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts, although no sister non-profit filmmaking workshop activity has formally been established to date.
בכבוד רב ,المخلص, Sincerely,
Bold World / ReelNATION

Personal Statement from Ruth Rachel Anderson-Avraham
Dear Friends of Bold World / ReelNATION,
In 2006, the same year in which Bold World Cinéma SARL (Bold World [fr]) and Cité Cinergie / Bold World Arts were created, I also personally began to forge initiatives addressing a cause which is dear to my heart: the fostering of peace in the Middle East, HaMisrah. Over time, these efforts have blossomed into ISRAELrealNATION.
Today, ISRAELrealNATION exists as "an independent non-profit Israel advocacy association educating the public and building bridges, in hope that the children of Israel, the Middle East, and the larger world may one day know peace ~ a peace which includes a just peace for Israel as a sovereign nation with a Jewish character and a Jewish majority." In pursuit of this goal, ISRAELrealNATION seeks to uplift and unite all nations and peoples of the Middle East ~ Jewish and Muslim, Jewish and Arab, Israeli and Palestinian, Christian, Samaritan, Druze (the list goes on)...
Although ISRAELrealNATION is not formally sponsored by Bold World / ReelNATION (or any other private enterprise in which I am personally invested) in any way, there is no doubt that both entities speak to one another, as they each represent realizations of my personal expression of G-d's love and light, to the best of my being, understanding, and ability, in the world. For example, through a social media initiative entitled Peaceful Middle East, ISRAELrealNATION promotes positive, peaceful images of the peoples and nations of Israel and the larger Middle East in the media. Moreover, ISRAELrealNATION produces educational, non-commercial short films on topics of interest to those seeking to engage in creative, constructive dialogue about the issues facing Israel and the larger Middle East.
Thus, even though these two entities exist as completely separate entities, my personal contributions to ISRAELrealNATION clearly have an impact upon the stories which I choose to craft and tell in the pursuit of my art and work for Bold World / ReelNATION, and further deepen Bold World / ReelNATION's commitment to positive engagement within the larger community, as well as the larger world.
Many thanks in advance for your time and your continued support of our efforts.

Harvey Weinstein has proven himself to be an extremely talented filmmaker, a brilliant businessman, and yet hostile, oppressive and abusive in his relationships with women in the workplace (and perhaps outside of the workplace, as well, sadly...?).
Bravo to the women who have had the courage to stand and defend themselves against his unwanted advances/aggressions over the years (which all parties concerned have the right to be tried before a Court, or settled between them).
That being said, I take offense to those who seek to connect Weinstein's behaviour to his Jewishness, or to his "looks", and find such comments to be discriminatory and/or anti-semitic. Such behaviour among men is about desire for power and control, and is not more prevalent within any culture, tradition, religion, (social construct of) "race" or ethnicity, education or income level than any other. Harvey Weinstein is certainly NOT the only man in Hollywood, or within the film-industry-at-large, who exhibits such behaviour...by far.
May the women whom Harvey Weinstein has harmed by his behaviour receive justice and have full and speedy recoveries from that which they have suffered; may Harvey Weinstein get the help he needs...Im Yirtseh Hashem, Insha'allah.

As a Musta'arabi/Misrahi/Sepharadi Jewish woman of color, I am deeply disturbed by Harvey Weinstein's singling out of and targeted attempt to publicly delegitimize Lupita Nyong'o's (alleged) sexual harassment claim, one among scores of others.
As with any of the other women who have come forward, Lupita Nyong'o also has a right to decide whether or not she would like to pursue her case legally, or seek out a settlement.
As with any of the other women who have come forward, women of color have a voice, and the right to be heard and fully respected.

As with SodaStream, BDS harms BOTH Palestinians and Israelis, as well as people across the larger Middle East, who sincerely seek dialogue and cultural and economic exchange with a view towards resolution of the Conflict and peacebuilding, once again.
We are heartbroken.
Ziad Doueiri is a filmmaker who has worked very hard in order to ensure that Palestinian, Israeli, and Lebanese voices are ALL heard as he seeks to bring people together through his artwork in order to uplift.

« Avec tout respect pour son droit de s'exprimer, d'avoir ses propres idées, je ne suis pas d'accord avec Catherine Deneuve (et al.).
#MeToo, ce n'est pas une question de la haine pour les hommes, mais une question de l'amour pour soi en tant que femme qui demande que les hommes me traitent avec de respect.
Un vrai homme, c'est un homme qui aime les femmes en vérité, qui n'impose pas aux femmes les traitements ignorant leur dignité en tant que femme, en tant qu'être humain. »

A New Flag for A New South
"Our new government [The Confederate States of America] is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its foundations are laid, its corner-stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth."

1919 / COVID-19: Honor the Struggles (2020),
A Public Service Announcement
by Ruth Rachel Anderson-Avraham, Bold World / ReelNATION
This past month, the number of persons who have lost their lives to novel Coronavirus / COVID-19 surpassed 100,000 in the United States, and 370,000 worldwide.
As we struggle with the deadly strike of the present pandemic, we are encouraged to look the past. In 1919 — a time in which medical technology was far from what it is today — millions of people were faced with the threat of death at the hands of what we now know as the common flu.
In 2020, seniors, persons of color, and medical and health care professionals are the populations at greatest risk of contracting, and potentially losing their lives to, novel Coronavirus / COVID-19.
We take a moment to honor and remember these struggles of the past and present, and to inspire us all to fight the good fight in the face of pandemic.
Be strong. Be safe. Be well.
