About Us
"Water sustains life. Light uplifts it."
~ Bold World/ReelNATION
Bold World/ReelNATION (Bold World/ReelNATION, LLC; Bold World/ReelNATION [us]) was first established by Ruth Rachel Anderson-Avraham (née Yvonne Michele Anderson) in Europe as two separate entities: a French Société à Responsabilité Limitée, subsequently reorganized into a French Entreprise Unipersonnelle à Responsabilité Limitée, registered with the Greffe du Tribunal de Commerce de Paris in 2006 (Bold World Cinéma SARL, then EURL; Bold World [fr]), and a British Limited Liability Company registered with the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales in 2006 (ReelNATION Ltd; ReelNATION [gb]). In 2008 and 2009, respectively, the business activity of both companies was relocated to the United States, where their branding and activity are now unified into one integrated whole.
An independent film production company committed to supporting the fine and visual arts as creative means to uplift, Bold World/ReelNATION develops and produces innovative, inspiring documentaries and historical fiction films, both short and feature-length, for distribution in all forms of media (primarily via theatrical, television, home, and digital platforms). With this goal in mind, the company distributes its work in both domestic and international markets.
Creatively, Bold World/ReelNATION has principally worked with artists, filmmakers and production companies — and with those extraordinary people who generously give of their own lives in sharing their personal stories with them — from North and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, South and East Asia, and the Middle East.
For Bold World/ReelNATION, integration of story and art is key.
Word is water. Creative voice is light.
Ruth Rachel Anderson-Anderson
Creator/Owner
After falling in love with the arts of photography and filmmaking while exploring the world as a child with her first 110 and Polaroid cameras, and as a young woman with her family's first VHS camera and tripod, filmmaker and visual artist Ruth Rachel Anderson-Avraham (née Yvonne Michele Anderson) studied film production at New York University while living on the Upper East Side and in Brooklyn and working with archival and documentary film in New York City in the late 90's.
As both a filmmaker and writer, Ms. Anderson-Avraham has worked primarily with non-fiction and historical fiction storytellers, and with those extraordinary people who generously give of their own lives in sharing their personal stories with them, internationally, most extensively in the Americas (including the United States), Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
She is dedicated to the support of worthy causes, and particularly the building of bridges and the fostering of peace among the peoples of the larger Middle East.
